  • Well I guess it is about time that I post some pictures of the newest addition to the Wilson family...maybe I will get back in the swing of blogging again...sorry about the large time gap.  We have truly been abundantly blessed by the Lord in so many ways.

    Happy Thoughts

We were in IL with my family this past weekend. Our family celebrated what we have for many years called "The July Birthdays"  there are eight of us that have a birthday in July.  It really is just an excuse to get together between Christmas and Christmas.  My uncle bougth this huge blow up bouncy thing the kids loved it... here are a couple pictures of little man playing.

  • The Energizer Bunny...

The Energizer Bunny has nothing on this kid.  I am really not for sure what has gotten in to Caleb, but he just keeps going and going.  We have been away from home the last two nights for various things and he has not gone to bed until after 10:00 pm each of these nights.  One would think he might sleep in..., or one would think he might take longer naps.  Nope, not the case with this happy go lucky fellow.  I guess he has decided that way too much fun stuff goes on when he would normally be sleeping.  He woke up bright eyed this morning and has been moving 90 miles per hours ever since, except for the 3O mins he slept in the stroller today while walking in the park.  Keep in mind he normally takes 2 good naps a day (1.5 -2 hours). I have put him in his crib for his naps, but it doesn't matter how long I leave him in there he just jumps up and down laughing and giggling.   I can't complain he is not fussy at all he just keeps wanting to play, play, play.  I thought it was kinda cute while we were playing his favorite game "Chase"  I was coming after him and he proceeded to crawl under the bed as if knew I could not come under there after him.  Silly kid....I managed to grab a few pictures of it.

I was told time would fly by quickly, and it sure does.  However, no one told me being a mom was going to be this much fun.  I love this stage of motherhood and I am enjoying my little one so much. So many things he does bring joy to my heart- the smiles, the giggles, the wobbly walking, the dancing to music and or course when he says “momma.”

    FirePlace 1

We have a climmer, he seems to be quite pround of himself. I turned my back for one moment and he was sitting on the brick by the fireplace.

    FirePlace2

Well we can see that the dicipline for the first time and the table blocking most of the brick did not stop this little tyke... I'm just glad he didn't break my vase.  :)

Pretty clever fella using his toy to get up on to the couch.  hee hee

I know there are many stages when it comes to ‘mothering’ our children and not every stage will be filled with smiles and giggles. Though they are nice they are not what we should live for…”Godly women do not live for kisses and nice little gifts, but to see their children walking with the Lord in righteousness.”  -Walter Chantry

I have been thinking a lot about motherhood and the high calling that it is. So I thought I would encourage you fellow mothers out there to remember it is the Lord that has blessed you with the wonderful task of raising children.  “There is no more demanding work in all the work, no more awe-inspiring job-description than raising a godly seed!”   -Walter Chantry   Though at times and possibly even for years to come there seems to be no visible results, our labor is not in vain.  The Lord is our strength, our wisdom, and our hope.  Press on mommies, press on.

  • Birthday Bash

It is hard to believe that my baby is one. Wow has the year flown so fast.  I must say I never thought I would love my little guy as much as I do and my love for him just keeps growing every day.   Caleb turned one on March 19th and we had a party for him in Salem,IL on Sat. Most all of my family was there.  Everyone from Great-Grandmas to nieces and nephews.  It was fun watching him open all his gifts. The funniest thing was to watch was him dance with these balloons- they played a song when you hit them...that was a hoot.

    Bday

I didn't take many pictures as I was hosting the party and busy running around.  I wish I would have given my camera to someone else sooner.

    First touch...

    Bday 2

    First taste...

I had to put it to his mouth as he would not dig in.  He really didn't eat that much, but it was cute watching him open his mouth when I would hold the cake up to him.  To my surprise he stayed really clean.

    Easter 1

    Easter2

He was excited to find there was a hidden treasure in the eggs.  (Money)

About Me

  • I could spend an entire day reading and journaling in a coffee shop...but now that Beyond the Brim is gone I am still trying to find a place to call my second home. I guess you could call me a retired school teacher (for now). I love children and am staying home to care for my own.
